Websites for medical practices
We build websites for medical practices and clinics: services, doctors and online appointments, from €600
Patients look for who treats what, where and when, and how to book. Your site answers in plain language, collects only the data it needs and stays inside the advertising rules of your college.
What a medical practice's website needs
If you need a website for a medical practice, clinic or dental office, it should present your services and doctors clearly, let patients request an appointment online, and follow the advertising rules of your professional college. We build presentation sites for medical practices from €600 and add online appointments from €2,500. Danube Labs is a solo studio in Bucharest. We are not medical or legal advisers, so the rules below point to official texts that you or your college should confirm.
What patients look for before they call
A patient comparing practices wants a short list answered: what do you treat, who are the doctors and their specialties, where are you, when are you open, what does a visit cost and how do I book. Give each answer its own page or section: services in plain language, one profile per doctor with specialty and qualifications, a price list where you choose to publish one, an address with a map, opening hours and a phone number that dials from a tap. Write for patients, as in the RecMed concept below.
Online appointments
Online booking removes the phone queue during opening hours. The simple version is a request form. The better one shows free slots per doctor, confirms by email and lets the patient cancel with a link. This website runs booking on Google Calendar with free slots computed from live availability, a confirmation, a 24-hour reminder and cancel links, and our guide explains how it works. For a clinic we keep the booking data small: name, phone, email, doctor and time slot. The reason for the visit and any symptoms belong in your clinical system, not in a calendar event.
What the advertising rules say
For physicians, the Code of Medical Deontology of the College of Physicians of Romania was adopted by Decision no. 2 of 30 October 2025 and published in the Official Gazette no. 1141 of 10 December 2025 (text on the legislative portal). Its chapter on advertising allows authorised services, qualifications, contact details and educational health information. It rules out comparative, denigrating and superlative mentions, unrealistic promises and information about patients without their consent.
For dentists, the College of Dental Physicians (CMSR) published a guide of good practices on advertising (30 May 2025, Official Gazette no. 529 of 6 June 2025). It says a site should inform, avoids generic domain names such as "implantologbuzau.ro", asks for transparent price lists and does not allow bonuses, family discounts or gift vouchers. Before-and-after photos need the patient's consent and anonymity. A safe starting point is no "best clinic in the city", no "100% success" and no patient testimonials with names. Let your doctor or your college approve the texts, and check the current version of the codes.
Health data and the GDPR
Health data is a special category under Article 9 of the GDPR, and the Romanian regulator has a page on processing health data. Even the fact that someone booked with an oncologist or a psychiatrist says something about their health. So collect the minimum on the site, state the purpose and the retention period in a privacy notice, restrict who can read bookings, and avoid a public free-text field that asks patients to describe their problem. Our guide to small business cybersecurity basics covers account protection and backups.
Accessibility, speed and trust
Patients include older people and people with low vision, so we build with readable contrast, large tap targets, labelled forms and keyboard navigation. The European Accessibility Act covers e-commerce among other services, so ask a lawyer whether it reaches your site. Trust comes from real names, real photos of doctors and rooms, an address anyone can verify and no exaggeration. A free Google Business Profile helps patients find you on Maps, and Google explains how to add or claim it.

How it works
How a medical site gets built
- 1
A call about services, doctors and rules
We list your services, doctors, hours, whether you publish prices, and which college's code applies to you.
- 2
Texts approved by your doctor
You or your doctor supply or approve the medical texts. We structure them, check them against the advertising points and mark what needs a decision.
- 3
Booking and data setup
We build the booking flow with minimal data, write the privacy notice with you and test on phones, including cancellation and a full slot.
- 4
Launch and updates
We publish, connect the Google Business Profile and show you the admin. When a code changes, you update the pages yourself.

Related work
The closest example is the RecMed Premium clinic, a concept we built for a medical recovery clinic: service and technology pages written for patients, team profiles, a blog the clinic can update itself, a consultation booking flow with confirmation, and light and dark themes. It is a concept, not a live clinic, and it went from brief to live prototype in one week. This website shows the booking engine in production: Google Calendar, per-visitor time zones, reminders and cancel links. No live medical client appears in our portfolio, and we do not make one up. Other work is in the portfolio.
FAQ
Questions, answered
How much does a website for a medical practice cost?
A presentation site with services, doctors, prices, contact, an appointment request form, a content admin and technical SEO costs €600–1,500. Online appointments with free slots per doctor start at €2,500. A multi-doctor clinic platform with integrations starts at €6,000. We fix the final price in writing once we know what you need.
What am I allowed to write about my services?
Stick to services authorised by law, qualifications, contact details and educational health information. The codes rule out comparative, denigrating and superlative claims and unrealistic promises. Dentists also follow the CMSR advertising guide. We check pages against these points, but your doctor or college approves the final text.
Can I show before-and-after photos or patient reviews?
For dentists, the CMSR guide allows before-and-after photos with the patient's consent and anonymity, and it bans bonuses and gift vouchers. For physicians, the code restricts laudatory content and information about patients without consent. Ask your college before publishing testimonials, and never name a patient.
Is online booking safe for patient data?
It can be, if the form collects the minimum: name, phone, email, doctor and slot. Keep symptoms and reasons for the visit out of the public form and out of calendar events, use HTTPS, limit who sees bookings and describe the processing in a privacy notice. Health data is a special category under GDPR Article 9.
Who writes the medical texts?
Medical content comes from you or your doctor, because it must be accurate and approved by the person responsible. We structure pages, edit for plain language in Romanian and English and flag wording that conflicts with the advertising points. We do not write clinical claims ourselves.
How long does it take, and can I edit the site myself?
The timeline depends mostly on how fast the texts are approved. We agree a date in writing after the first call. The RecMed concept went from brief to live prototype in one week. Presentation sites and above include a content admin, so you update services, doctors and prices without a developer.
Do I need a privacy policy and cookie notice?
Yes, whenever the site collects personal data through a form or uses analytics or cookies beyond the strictly necessary. We include a privacy notice page and configure the site to avoid unnecessary trackers. Have your data-protection contact or lawyer review the final wording for your practice.
