Website creation in Cluj-Napoca
Website creation in Cluj-Napoca: from €150, remote, at the same price as anywhere in Romania
One person, based in Bucharest, builds your site over Google Meet and shared documents, with no travel costs. The pages are written for buyers who compare and check.
A site for an economy where IT weighs the most
For a company or a sole trader in Cluj-Napoca, a static site of 1–2 pages falls in the €150–350 band. A presentation site in Romanian and English, with up to 8 pages and content admin, costs €600–1,500, and a custom-coded site or web app starts at €2,500. The ranges are indicative, negotiable and written into the quote before the start. Danube Labs is one person based in Bucharest. We have no office and no staff in Cluj, and the work is remote, on Google Meet calls.
An economy where IT weighs 21%
According to Eurostat, information and communication produced 21.0% of Cluj county's gross value added in 2023, against 7.7% in Romania. GDP per inhabitant was €24,700 in Cluj and €16,900 nationally. On 31 December 2025 the Trade Registry counted 94,728 active businesses in the county, about 136 per 1,000 residents against 92 for the country (our own calculation from ONRC and Eurostat data).
For an IT, consulting or B2B services firm, that means buyers who open your site on a phone, check its speed and read which cookies you set. Take that as a working assumption. Write service pages around the problem solved and keep the list of technologies in a separate section. A starting price or a range goes on the page, and the English version has the same quality as the Romanian one. Partners and candidates from abroad judge the firm by the English version.
Freelancers and sole traders: one good page beats ten mediocre ones
The county had 21,520 active sole traders, individual and family businesses at the end of 2025. If you are one of them, a static site at €150–350 or a presentation site at €600–1,500 gives you an address of your own instead of a profile on someone else's platform. Put on the page what you do, how you work, your price ranges and a button that leads to a calendar of calls. That is how the booking on our own site works, described in this article.
Romanian, English and sometimes Hungarian
In the 2021 census, of those who stated a mother tongue in Cluj-Napoca municipality, 14.0% said Hungarian (33,851 of 241,002 people, INS). Visitors from abroad add to that: accommodation in the county recorded 304,402 nights by foreign guests in 2025, which is 25.4% of the total and over three times the 2021 figure (Eurostat).
English is justified for almost any firm that sells services. Hungarian is justified when your customers ask for it, for example in a practice, a school or a firm that serves Hungarian-speaking communities. Each added language means a real translation of every page, so a higher price. Check the country report in Search Console and your own customer list first.
Cluj-Napoca, Florești and the metropolitan belt
The municipality has 286,598 residents, and the communes around it add another 92,876: Florești 52,735, Apahida 17,239, Baciu 13,922 and Gilău 8,980. A practice or a workshop in Florești can have a page of its own if it has an address and opening hours there. Do not name your Google Business Profile "X Services Cluj" just to rank higher: Google's guidelines forbid unnecessary information in the business name and it can lead to suspension. If you work from home and travel to customers, the profile is set up as a service-area business with the address hidden.
Remote, at the same prices
Because we work online, the price in Cluj is the price in any other city and includes no travel. A meeting in person is not realistic outside Bucharest, and we prefer to say so plainly. Talks run on video with a shared screen, and texts, photos and feedback move through shared documents. You will find more on costs in the price guide.

The portfolio holds no client sites from Cluj yet, so you will not find invented references here. The closest example for a technical buyer is this website: Next.js, no database, bilingual, with booking on Google Calendar and a score of 100 in all four Lighthouse categories at our last measurement. You can check the speed yourself, in your browser. There is also RecMed, a medical clinic concept with a booking flow: a concept, not a client. For a project with customer accounts or integrations, we discuss on the intro call what can be built on the same base. See the rest of the portfolio, including the AI products.
FAQ
Questions, answered
How much does a website cost in Cluj-Napoca?
A static site of 1–2 pages falls in the €150–350 band. For a presentation site with up to 8 pages, in Romanian and English, the range is €600–1,500, and a custom site or web app starts at €2,500. There is no separate tariff for Cluj, because we work online with no travel, and the final sum goes into the written quote.
Do you have an office in Cluj or only work remotely?
We have no office in Cluj. Danube Labs is one person based in Bucharest, and we work remotely: Google Meet calls, a shared screen and shared documents. A meeting in person is realistic only in Bucharest. For a website, the process and the result are the same, at the same prices.
Do I need a Hungarian version too?
Not automatically. In the 2021 census, 14% of those who stated a mother tongue in Cluj-Napoca said Hungarian. If you serve customers who ask for it, it is worth it, and every page gets a real translation. Look first at the countries and languages of your visitors in Search Console, then decide.
Can I have a Google Business Profile if I work from home?
Yes, as a service-area business. Under Google's rules, a business that travels to customers hides its address, and a virtual office is accepted only if it is staffed during opening hours. The profile name stays the real business name, without the city or added keywords.
Which language should an IT company's site use?
Romanian and English, written to the same standard. Clients and candidates from abroad read the English version as your business card, so a weak machine translation costs more than it saves. The services page states the problem solved, a price range and how to get started.
How do I appear in Google for searches that include Cluj?
Nobody can guarantee a position. We work on three things: pages with their own content for each service and real area, a complete and exact Google Business Profile, and real customer reviews. After launch you see in Search Console which searches bring visitors and which pages need strengthening.
Who writes the texts and how long does it take?
You give us the information about services, processes and prices, and we turn it into pages. A static site can be live 1–2 weeks after we receive the texts, a presentation site in 3–6 weeks and a custom one in 6–12 weeks or more. These are indicative.
Tell us which services you sell and to whom
Book a free Google Meet call. You get the quote in writing, with the price of each language, and no obligation. The price is the same in Cluj and in the rest of the country.
