Website creation in Bucharest
Website creation in Bucharest: from €150, a written quote and a face-to-face meeting if you want one
One person based in Bucharest writes your quote, builds the site and answers you directly. In a crowded market, the site starts from what sets you apart.
What matters in a website when you compete in Bucharest
We build websites for Bucharest businesses in three bands: a static site of 1–2 pages (€150–350), a presentation site of up to 8 pages with a content admin, in two languages (€600–1,500) and a custom-coded site or online shop (sites from €2,500, online shops from €4,000). Prices are indicative and negotiable, and the final figure goes into a written quote before work starts. Danube Labs is one person based in Bucharest, so if you prefer to meet in person, we can. We are not an agency with dozens of staff, and we say so up front.
The most crowded market in the country
On 31 December 2025 the Trade Registry counted 339,556 active businesses registered in Bucharest (companies, sole traders, individual and family businesses), which is 19.4% of the 1,747,840 nationwide. Against the population on 1 January 2025, that is about 199 per 1,000 residents versus 92 for Romania (our own calculation from ONRC and Eurostat data). The count reflects registered seats, so it includes firms that operate elsewhere.
| Indicator | Bucharest | Romania |
|---|---|---|
| Active businesses on 31.12.2025 (ONRC) | 339,556 | 1,747,840 |
| Per 1,000 residents (our calculation) | 199 | 92 |
| New registrations in 2025 (ONRC) | 34,405 | 153,425 |
| GDP per inhabitant, 2023 (Eurostat) | €48,900 | €16,900 |
For your site, that means a generic presentation page disappears in the results. The page that wins answers the exact search, meaning the service, the sector and the area, with a starting price in view. The 34,405 registrations in 2025 are more than a fifth of all in Romania, so the competition renews itself every month.
Sectors, neighbourhoods and the towns around
Searches in the capital are made by area. The most populous sector, Sector 3, has 374,737 residents and the smallest, Sector 1, has 217,367 (2021 census, INS). In Ilfov, Popești-Leordeni (53,434), Voluntari (47,366), Chiajna (43,588) and Bragadiru (40,080) together hold more than 184,000 people. If you serve them, say so on your contact page.
A separate page per sector or neighbourhood is worth it only if you have a real address or delivery zone there and can write something different on each: the address, opening hours, parking, how to get there. Google treats near-identical pages made only for different cities or regions as doorway abuse, a breach of its spam policies. For each location with public opening hours, the Google Business Profile weighs more than the page: Google says relevance, distance and prominence decide local ranking.
Foreign visitors: English belongs in the site from the start
Eurostat shows that of 4,147,853 nights recorded in Bucharest accommodation in 2025, 2,574,950 (62.1%) were spent by visitors from abroad. If you run a small hotel, a restaurant, a clinic or a workshop in an area tourists pass through, we recommend a full English version that goes beyond a translated menu. Our presentation sites ship bilingual, with correct hreflang tags, so Google shows each language to the right visitors.
Customers order online, so the site has to take the order
In the Bucharest-Ilfov region, 73.85% of people ordered goods or services online in the previous 12 months (2025), against 60.28% nationally (Eurostat). A visitor from the capital expects to book, order or request a quote without phoning. Booking tied to Google Calendar runs on our own site and we explain it in this article. For selling online see the online shop page, and we have dedicated pages for restaurants and medical practices.
One person instead of an agency: what that means in practice
The person who discusses the quote also writes the code. There are no go-betweens and no meetings with five people, and your questions are answered by whoever did the work. There is one clear limit. For a large rebrand with dozens of pages and video production, we will tell you it is not the right project and, where we can, point you in a direction. The domain, accounts and code stay in your name. Recurring costs (domain, hosting, email) are paid directly to the providers. Read also how much a website costs in Romania.

We do not list client sites in the portfolio yet, so you will not find invented references here. The fullest working example is this website: bilingual, with booking on Google Calendar, confirmation and reminder emails and a timezone shown to each visitor. The law-firm website is a concept, with practice areas in two languages and booking. RecMed is also a concept, for a medical clinic, with a booking flow. Both are labelled as concepts. FAQ
Questions, answered
How much does a website cost in Bucharest?
A static site of 1–2 pages costs €150–350. A presentation site of up to 8 pages, with a content admin and two languages, is usually €600–1,500. A custom-coded site starts at €2,500 and an online shop at €4,000. Prices are indicative, negotiable and written into the quote before work starts.
Can we meet in person?
Yes, in Bucharest. Danube Labs is one person based in the capital, so we can meet at your place or somewhere we agree. We do not have an office open to the public. If you prefer, the intro call and the rest of the project run online, through Google Meet and shared documents, at the same price.
How do I show up in Google with so many firms in Bucharest?
Nobody can promise first place. We start from specific searches, meaning the service plus the sector or area, with pages that have their own content, a complete Google Business Profile, real reviews and a fast mobile site. After launch we watch Search Console for the searches that bring visitors and adjust the pages.
Do I need an English version?
It depends on your customers. In Bucharest, 62% of the nights recorded in accommodation in 2025 were spent by foreign visitors (Eurostat), so hotels, restaurants in tourist areas and clinics benefit from English. A neighbourhood plumber can start in Romanian only. Presentation sites ship bilingual anyway, and you choose what to publish.
Who writes the texts and takes the photos?
You give us the information: what you do, for whom, the prices, the area. We write and arrange the texts from it. Real photos of your place or your work are yours, and they convince more than stock images. Professional photography is ordered separately, and we prepare it for fast loading.
How long until the site is online?
A static site can be live 1–2 weeks after we have the texts. A presentation site usually takes 3–6 weeks and a custom one 6–12 weeks or more. These are indicative. What matters most is how quickly the texts, the photos and your opinion on the design arrive.
Who owns the domain and the code?
You do. The domain is registered to your company, the code sits in a Git repository we hand over, and the hosting and Search Console accounts are set up on your email address. Recurring costs, meaning domain, hosting and email, are paid directly to the providers. If you want to work with someone else later, you leave with everything.
