A Danube Labs product in development. It is closed source and not released yet; this page presents what it does.

Converting documents usually means choosing between fidelity and convenience. This converter picks the best engine for each conversion automatically, so equations, tables and headings survive the trip in every direction.

What it does

  • Converts between Markdown, DOCX, PDF and PPTX in every direction, from a file, a folder or pasted text
  • A router that chooses between Microsoft Office automation for maximum fidelity, Pandoc and LibreOffice for portability, and built-in Python engines when neither is available
  • Markdown to PDF through Word, so pagination and equations look right; Markdown to PowerPoint through an outline, so headings become slides
  • A desktop app with a live preview and background conversions
  • A web version with batch uploads, per-file progress, conversion history and a credit system

Web architecture

A FastAPI backend and a Next.js frontend on Supabase and Postgres: jobs are queued and picked up by workers through realtime events, credits are spent in atomic database transactions, row-level security keeps each user's files separate, and guest files are deleted after 24 hours.

  • The web version: batch upload, conversion history and credits
