SearXNG + OpenClaw

Agents need to search the web, and commercial search APIs charge per query and log what you look for. This project sets up a local SearXNG instance, turns on its JSON API, adds Redis for caching, and wires it into OpenClaw as a search provider.
What we built
- An installer that puts SearXNG and Redis in place with a systemd unit that starts on boot and restarts on failure
- Seven engines enabled out of the 70+ SearXNG ships with, with the rest a line away in the settings file
- Multi-page result retrieval through the pageno parameter, which most plugins ignore
- A configuration script that backs up the agent config, validates it and restarts the gateway
- Test, update, backup, restore and uninstall scripts, and documentation for install, usage, maintenance, security and troubleshooting
The service binds to loopback only: it is not a public search engine. The documentation says plainly that there is no authentication or TLS in front of it by default, and what to do about that before exposing it.
