Every AI coding tool wants its own providers, keys, models and spending limits. My Claude Code (MCC) replaces all of that with one routing layer that runs on your own machine: configure it once, then point every agent at it.

What we built

  • Protocol adapters for four API formats: Anthropic Messages, OpenAI Responses, OpenAI Chat Completions and Google Gemini
  • Tiered routing with fallback chains, per-agent overrides and reasoning budgets
  • Credential pools with health tracking and rotation across 57 model providers, local models included
  • A web-search proxy that fulfils an agent's search tool across 14 search providers
  • A dashboard with a full request log, analytics and per-request cost with its source
  • Desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, installers that verify checksums, and packages on PyPI and npm

It runs locally with no telemetry; its only outbound traffic goes to the providers you configure, and your keys stay in a file you own.

History and credit

MCC began as a fork of free-claude-code and became a standalone project on 5 September 2026, carrying its full Git history and all 284 pull requests across. It has been developed substantially since; inherited code keeps its original MIT credit. MCC is dual-licensed under AGPL-3.0 or a commercial licence.
